ABOUT 

Hi, my name is Hoang Pham, an up and coming Mechanical Engineer. Growing up, I fell in love with the logical and exciting beauty of Mathematics, and I was astonished by the practicality and magic of Physics. With my curiosity of wanting to know how everything works and how things are designed, I wanted to follow a career that satisfies this interest while maintaining my passion for Math and Physics, and surprisingly, Mechanical Engineering checks all the boxes.

On my path to pursuing this dream, I have also picked up an interest in programming. I started coding in middle school with small projects such as determining a prime number or sorting a list in Pascal. In high school, I taught myself C++ to program mini games like number guesser or tic tac toe. Fast forward to college, I learned MATLAB and Python to program Arduinos, simulate real-world physics, and develop my own FEA program and Airfoil simulator.

On the Mechanical Engineering side, I love thinking of innovative ideas, putting them on paper, and designing a process to make them into reality. As a result, I enjoy both team projects where communication and teamwork matter and personal projects where I can explore new knowledge and hone my skills. One of my favorite projects is the Shoe Shining Machine; this was my first “real” engineering project, and I got to work with so many people who became my greatest friends. Some other projects that I worked on were designing parts for a robot that competed in the VEX competition for my school’s robotics club. Currently, I am the head of the Aerodynamics team for my school’s AIAA DBF team, designing the wing, fuselage, and control surfaces for an RC aircraft. Additionally, I am also helping the FSAE team with simulating the suspension system for the team’s race car.

By and large, I am a mixture of a Mechanical Engineer, a Mathematician, a Physicist, and a Programmer (and a Runner/rookie Music Composer).
