ABOUT 

Hi, my name is Hoang Pham, and I am a design engineer. From a young age, I was captivated by the logical elegance of Mathematics and the practical magic of Physics. My curiosity about how things work and how they are designed naturally drew me toward a career that combines both exploration and creativity. Mechanical Engineering turned out to be the perfect fit, allowing me to pursue my passion for Math and Physics while applying them to real-world design challenges.

Along the way, I also developed a strong interest in programming. I began coding in middle school with small projects, such as checking for prime numbers or sorting lists in Pascal. In high school, I taught myself C++ and created mini-games like a number guesser and tic-tac-toe. By the time I reached college, I had expanded my skills to MATLAB and Python, using them to program Arduinos, simulate real-world physics, and even develop my own FEA program and airfoil simulator.

On the Mechanical Engineering side, I enjoy turning ideas into reality, sketching concepts, designing processes, and seeing them come to life. I thrive in both team projects, where communication and collaboration are essential, and personal projects, which allow me to explore new knowledge and refine my skills. One of my favorite projects was the Shoe Shining Machine, my first “real” engineering project, where I had the chance to work with many people who became lifelong friends. I was also the head of the Aerodynamics team for my school’s AIAA DBF team, designing the wing, fuselage, and control surfaces for an RC aircraft. Professionally, I gained valuable experience at NXP Semiconductors, designing ATE hardware that tests billions of chips per year, pushing the boundaries of edge and automotive technologies. Currently, I am working on a fun side project using the Arduino R4 WiFi to control lights, fans, and a watering system in my apartment.
